Beth Robinson – first openly lesbian woman that became a judge of the U.S Court of Appeals

In 2011, Beth Robinson, an associated judge in the Supreme Court, played a fundamental word in the legalization of the same-sex marriage.

The administration of Biden will make Robinson the judge of the Court of Appeals that serves Connecticut, New-York and Vermont.

“Judge Robinson has been my hero for many years” – said the President of the Senate while nominating Robinson. “Her argumentation before the Supreme Court was thoroughly professional in a civil union case. I’m excited about her candidacy in the U.S. Court of Appeals.”

Robinson is an openly lesbian woman. She and her wife, Kim Boyman, were in a civil union until 2001, they got married in 2010.
