Jojo Siwa will be the first in the history of American Dancing with the stars to compete with a female partner in the new season. This is the first time since the show’s existence in America. Dancing with the Stars has seen homosexual couples before, for example, in Israel, Italy and Australia.
In 2016 model Nyle DiMarco and actress Jodie Sweetin danced in the Dancing with the starts. This was the first small public dance that consisted of same-sex couples.
Jojo Siwa came out as queer this year. She says that she will compete with other participants and wants to motivate and inspire queer community members.
